Well, it all comes down to basic economics... if the series does well, they will continue to produce the books on audio. If it doesn't do well, such as (sadly) the Executioner line, then they will have no choice but to discontinue with the series.

Right now, if you follow the schedule, you'll see that they produce a new audio book every two months - so at this rate, it will take about another 46 months (nearly 4 years) for them to complete the series.

It hurts each time I read the Executioner/Mack Bolan series is coming to an end. There is so much potential, and great story lines to be heard.Sad

The Survivalist series will be released monthly starting in October 2008.

There are 27 books in the series with Mid-Wake and The Legend in the middle (29 books total).

The series should be completed in about 2 years.

There are never any guarantees, but the fact that the Survivalist series is relatively short, gives it a better chance to be completed. Still, as noted here by Outlander, it is all a matter of economics. If sales do not provide a satisfactory return on investment, GA will ultimately invest their resources in another series, or other projects, to maintain a desired rate of return. So the best thing is to support and buy the books you like, until they complete a series or stop. The Mack Bolan/Executioner series were what brought me to GA in the first place, and I love the GA productions and buy each when they come out, but it does appear as if not enough people have continued to support them with sales. I'm disappointed, but that's business. It looks as if the STONY MAN series is doing well enough to continue, though, and I really like that GA went back to the beginning and have recently completed STONY MAN DOCTRINE and the other early books in the series. In the mean time, I discovered the Deathlands series and others that GA produces that I've tried and now enjoy, especially some of the westerns (PREACHER and LAST GUNFIGHTER, for instance).

Actually, I was only referring to the end of GA's production of the series. As far as I know, GE is still publishing both.

VF, this is one of the times I enjoy being corrected. That's excellent news!

VF stated in a previous post that they may not be in the upcoming catalog.

Mack Bolan and The Executioner may not be in our upcoming catalogs. We have other newer books and series to look forward to that were not mentioned in the newsletter.

Glad to hear this sounds like it will be produced to its end. Point of note when you have 3 books with interchangeable characters unless you are a die hard must have it type of fan you tend to get burned out. Wish they would keep producing them but just rotate putting out one book a month from the 3 don pendleton series.
