So how do you listen to your audiobooks?

In my collection of audiobook electronics I own a Sony WM-150 Portable Cassette Player used for some of the older audiobooks I still own. When it comes to portability for CD’s and MP3 CD’s I own a iRiver SlimX iMP-900 (INNO) CD player, and I use Sennheiser HD 595 headphones with a Headroom portable headphone amplifier for both the cassette and CD player. In the home I own a Sony CMT-DH7BT DVD Micro System with Bluetooth (Recently Introduced/Discontinued?), and a Sony DRBT50 Stereo Bluetooth Headset I don’t use the speakers. As a back-up stereo I own a Onkyo MC35TECH, and I use the same Sennheiser HD 595 with a Headroom Micro Amp. Then late at night I normally listen to old time radio using a Tangent Quattro Wi-Fi radio which I also use to listen to Power Records, and certain audiobook  downloads off my computer. The only missing device is an MP3 player since I honestly do not know how to run those, and I like having a hard copy of the audiobook so I simply listen to them as describe above.  On the road my car has a cassette player, and a normal CD player so mainly I listen to cassettes in the car.

I have a creative zen vision: M. I plug it into any stereo. at home i have a kenwood w/ 5.1 surround. i plug it into my computer at work.

i use a cassette adapter for the car. i used to have a kenwood mp3 cd player in the car but that was stolen so i put the factory tape deck back in.

i either convert cd's to the zen, or put dl'd copies over, now i buy mp3 cds and just copy the files over

I purchase the CD's on the road, rip them into my computer with ITunes and import them onto my IPod.  I have a cassette player in the truck so I have to use a cassette adaptor.  It works well for me.

I just burn 'em to disk using Windows Media and listen to them on the commute to and from work each day, when I'm running errands for the wife, and on the weekend when I do my most driving.

I can finish off a survivalist novel that way in about three days, or one day (like I did on the weekend) when I was in the car for most of the day.

IPOD!  I buy the MP3 discs and import them into ITunes, then listen to it via A/V inputs in my in-dash DVD player.

Since I travel all over the world, use may laptop in the hotel room, and in the car or on a plane my Zen V plus works great. When I was in Dubai I downloaded Angry White Mailmen. ( Lost my MP-3 player in the cab on the way to the airport. So someone else got to enjoy that story.) I also downloaded Bidding War in South Africa. Audio books make it easier to travel.

The Creative Zen seems to be a popular choice for audiobooks even Audiofile Magazine (June/July 2008) has an article about it "The Zen of Downloading Audiobooks".  The replies have been great it is very interesting reading how everyone goes about listening to their audiobooks. Sorry to hear about the loss Ghost if I had those little devices I would need a leash on it otherwise I would lose them constantly.

Outlander do you label your disc's once you have burned them, and do you keep them once you burned them or do you copy over them? If you don't mind me asking.

I love my zen - I especially the love 'bookmark' option so its no problem dl'ing the whole story in 1 file.

i have NO IDEA how i lived without it..

It's amazing if you go to Creative's website 3/4 of their MP3 product line if not a little more than that is "Out Of Stock".

Don’t worry about my loss of the MP-3 player TuneInForTerror, I am hard on the MP-3’s and buy one or two a year. Besides I am still laughing at the fact that I lost a MP-3 in the Middle East with The Destroyer’s, "Angry White Mailmen" on it. I am sure Joe Camel would agree. MP-3 Player $39.95. The loss of the MP-3 Player in Dubai, priceless.
