GraphicAudio started offering a higher quality version (192kbps) of our wma downloads with Deathstalker Coda 1 and The Last Gunfighter 1. You can still download the Low Quality (Lower file size - 96kbps) version below the image links on the product pages, so it's your choice. The information below is also posted on each product page:
GraphicAudio offers some of its digital downloads in two bitrates: 192
kbps WMA (High Quality) and 96 kbps WMA (Low Quality). While the 192k
bitrate offers a higher-quality recording, the 96 kbps files sound good
too and are an ideal option for listeners with slower connections
and/or less available storage. Note: 192K files take up about twice as
much space as 96k files; therefore, you’ll be able to store fewer
192K files on your hard drive or portable player.
If a 192K
version is available, then the image link download will default to 192K
and you'll see a link for the 96kbps Low Quality download below.
What does “bitrate” mean?
When
we’re talking about digital audio, “bitrate” refers to the way in which
the audio file is encoded. Bitrate is defined in kilobits per second
(kbps). Kbps is a measure of bandwidth (the amount of data that can
flow in a given amount of time on any transmission medium). Basically,
bitrate can tell you about how much information is stored in each
second of digital audio playback. (A 192 kbps bitrate means
192 kilobits of bandwidth were used to encode each second of audio.) In
most cases, the higher the bitrate, the more information contained
within the audio file. Therefore, a higher bitrate means better sound
quality, a greater range of highs and lows, and a more “natural” sound
that is truer to the original recording.
Note:
Some of the older wma downloads are 48kbps. We're currently updating our
entire collection, so all of the titles should have a higher quality
download available in the future. Thanks for being patient!
