    DC Comics: 52 - Part 2: A Review

Spoilertastic - Don't read below if you don't like getting spoiled. Listen to the production before coming back here to read my, kind of review I guess (I'm trying), so hard to remember everything that happened, although I did leave one part out, but I really got pumped up with this part. Hi guys, Wow. This message thing actually works with safari and the Mac Voiceover screen reader and not jaws? How interesting is that? Anyway, I just baught DC Comics: 52 part 2 yesterday and got hooked, as did my other comics. However, this one had me confused in certain areas, and there's lots of disloyalty in this one, which I had not expected from Soveck, until it happened. I also didn't expect Black Adam to go on a rampage across the world destroying city's in a 24-hour timeframe. At first, I didn't know he was a villen. Black Adam that is. Well, I guess he turned into one after Icesus died and she said, "Revenge us" and he wanted to get after every "intergang" member, even if it meant destroying entire cities. So what could I say, I wish there is a part 3. What will Renay do with herself? How will Cate recover, and is there another comic that shows Cate battering the Hell out of supervillens again? And last, but not least, will the former Superman place his Cape on again? All he is now is meer mortal. Hell, will we even find out what Black Adam's new "Magic word" is? So many questions to be answered with so little time for GraphicAudio to produce. That sums it all up, looking forward to new comics in the future and wil buy every single damn one of them.

Having read the original comics, most of these storylines simply continued into the greater DC universe.

Once again, I wish that there was a second novelization (and thusly adaptation) of 52 involving the Steel, Elongated Man, and Adam Strange/Animal Man/Starfire storylines.

    52 was that big.

I believe GA adapted the novelization of 52 by Greg Cox.  I don't know, not having read the novelization (or comics), but if the other story lines were not in the novelization, GA would not have included them in the adaptation.  Your note wishing for a second 52 novelization leads me to believe the novelization was not all-inclusive of the various 52 plot lines.  Can anyone provide additional information?  Thanks.

The GraphicAudio production is based on 52: The Novel by Greg Cox. (Amazon.com Link)

    From Wikipedia:
Ace Books, under the imprint of The Berkley Publishing Group and published by The Penguin Group, released a novelization written by Greg Cox with cover art by JG Jones and Alex Sinclair and its design by George Brewer.

The novel primarily adapts the weekly limited series and the World War III tie-in mini series. The novel deals with the plotlines of Montoya, the Question, Black Adam, Booster Gold, Skeets, and the 52 Earths, and ignores the Luthor/Steel/Everyman Project, Ralph Dibny, and space plotlines completely; in his introduction, Cox explains that it was not possible to adapt all the plotlines of 52 within a novel of reasonable length. There are also minor differences, such as Mister Mind revealing himself within Skeets to the mass gathering of heroes following the battle with Black Adam, rather than revealing himself several weeks later to Rip Hunter and Booster Gold.

Thanks for the info.  I doubt DC would consider another 52 novelization for the other plot lines.

No, unfortunately not, but the emitted storylines were just as long as the ones kept.

Greg Cox literally could have made a two volume novelization if he had wanted out of 52, but instead he picked the ones that had the largest scale of impact.

It's just wishful thinking on my part, but Graphic Audio does indeed only work with what it's given (and well).
