Thanks for the link. I checked it out and it all seems too detailed and convoluted for my addled brain! The 60's origin was simple enough for even me to follow...Dying GL (Abin-Sur?) crashes on Earth and ring seeks out suitable replacement (man w/o fear, Hal Jordan)...GL gives him the ring, says do good things with it, and dies. Oh, and he forgot to mention those pesky Guardians....or that renegade GL, Sinestro. I guess if GA ever does these books, I'll learn a lot more than I ever wanted to about the GL Corps. But, that's the way of the comic universe - old timers like me are content with the bare bones beginnings of a character, but that may be too simplistic for today's fans. On the other hand, I probably wouldn't recognize the Hal Jordan of today (if he's still "alive"), and consider 4 decades of history too much trouble to sift through. But I admit, the editorial staff must reshape the concepts to fit the current market of any one era, and what fans look for changes over time.
